FOOTBALL REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Following the many changes this off-season, we would like to extend a warm welcome to families joining us from North Perry, as well as new players residing within the Olympic High School boundaries. We recognize that transitions can bring questions and uncertainty, and we are committed to ensuring this season is a positive, supportive, and rewarding experience for everyone—most importantly, for our athletes.
That commitment to player development, safety, and growth is the foundation of the Olympic Trojans. Together, we look forward to building a strong future, starting this season, and creating an experience our athletes and families can be proud of. Below, you will find a Q&A addressing common questions we have received.
QUESTION:Player Capacity: Your strategy for managing the expected increase in player registrations.
ANSWER:While WSYFL permits roster limits of up to thirty-four (34) players for Senior, Junior, and Sophomore levels, and twenty-five (25) players for Freshman and Flag levels, we intentionally set lower maximum enrollment numbers to ensure optimal player development, safety, and quality coaching. Registration is capped at twenty-four (24) players for Senior, Junior, and Sophomore levels, and eighteen (18) players for Freshman and Flag levels. Once a level reaches its maximum capacity, registration will close, and a waitlist will be activated. Any acceptance of waitlisted players beyond the initial cap—while remaining within WSYFL limits—will be evaluated on a discretionary, case-by-case basis by the Head Coach in collaboration with the Football Athletic Director. If waitlist numbers support the formation of an additional team and appropriate coaching staff is available, the creation of a second team will be considered.
QUESTION:Resources: The readiness of your fields, equipment, and overall infrastructure for a larger program.
ANSWER:Our program is well prepared to support growth in player participation. We have consistently secured field availability through CKSD and have proactively requested additional field space to accommodate potential expansion of the football program. All field reservation requests are submitted months in advance and are currently pending review and approval. In addition, our baseball fields are readily available and can be utilized as supplemental practice locations if needed. Equipment needs are evaluated following each season to project requirements for the upcoming year and are reassessed again before the start of the season. Based on these evaluations, equipment purchases are made in advance to ensure readiness, with additional items ordered as a contingency to support increased participation.
QUESTION:Financials: Any anticipated adjustments to registration fees and the availability of financial aid or scholarships.
ANSWER:We strive to keep registration fees affordable and comparablewhile ensuring the continued quality and safety of our program. To support accessibility and inclusion, we offer multiple financial assistance options, including flexible payment plans, automated installment options, and need-based scholarships. These resources are designed to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent any youth from participating in the program.
QUESTION:Team Integration: Your approach to fostering a unified and positive team culture for both new and existing players.
ANSWER:Our approach to team integration is built on strong leadership, clear communication, and consistent practices across the entire program. Our priority is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and team-first environment for all players and families—both returning and new—so everyone feels supported and connected from the start. Coaches, board members, and team leaders will lead by example by modeling respect, accountability, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We prioritize open communication, fairness, safety, and consistent coaching standards to ensure a smooth transition and a positive experience where every player feels valued, supported, and connected throughout the season and set up to succeed both on and off the field.
QUESTION:Coaching Staff: The process for selecting coaches, and how experienced volunteer coaches from North Perry can be considered.
ANSWER:Coaching opportunities are available, and experienced volunteer coaches from North Perry are encouraged to apply. All individuals interested in coaching must complete the online registration process to be considered. Coach selection is conducted through a thorough screening and evaluation process, with any potential conflicts reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Selection criteria include coaching experience, prior volunteer involvement, relevant certifications or qualifications, and feedback from previous seasons. Additional considerations include coaching philosophy, commitment to player development and safety, ability to foster a positive and supportive team environment, alignment with program values, and demonstrated integrity and sportsmanship. Our overall goal is to build strong, unified teams led by coaches who support the growth, development, and success of all players across the program.
QUESTION:Player Waivers: Your policy on supporting waivers for families who may seek alternative programs.
ANSWER:According to the WSYFL ByLaws and General Rules, there’s no formal waiver process required. Each organization is permittedup to three players per level who live outside their high school zone. If an organization has more than three out-of-zone player requests, each case will be reviewed by WSYFL before the start of the season. Families are encouraged to contact any WSYFL participating Club that may better meet their needs, as each Club may accept up to three out-of-boundary players per level. All out-of-boundary placements are subject to approval by the receiving Club.Register at www.tracytonpeewees.com and take advantage of an automated Payment Plan option that is available in the registration system. Go Trojans! 💙🏈🤍
